Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 11 October 2024, the first meeting of the newly established joint venture "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Company" took place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

This company was founded in March 2024 in accordance with Kyrgyz legislation to implement the railway construction project connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

The company’s core activities will focus on financing, designing, building, operating, and maintaining the railway.

During the inaugural meeting, participants addressed key governance issues, elected members of the Board of Directors, and appointed the executive leadership.

Discussions also covered funding matters, and the investment plan for the current year was approved.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the international project, which aims to greatly enhance transport infrastructure in the region and strengthen economic ties between the countries of Central Asia.
