Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan occupies one of the leading places among the CIS countries in terms of the number of students studying at Russian universities. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during negotiations with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the Russian leader, more than 63,000 students from Uzbekistan are currently studying at Russian universities.

The President of the Russian Federation also noted that about 14,000 students from Uzbekistan are studying in Russia free of charge.
