Putin arrives in Tashkent for talks with Uzbek President
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of Russia Vladimir Putin arrived in Uzbekistan with an official visit on Monday evening, the local television reported.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov welcomed Vladimir Putin at the Tashkent International Airport.
Russian official said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbek President Islam Karimov will discuss issues of developing strategic partnership, diversification of economic relations and accession of Uzbekistan to the CIS free trade zone.
In the result of the talks, the sides will sign a memorandum of understanding on accession of Uzbekistan to free trade zone in the CIS and a declaration on deepening strategic partnership. In line with the memorandum, Uzbekistan will negotiate accession to the CIS free trade zone treaty by the end of 2012.
