The festival was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Uzbekistan, Uzbektheatre and Samarkand regional administration.

The event is aimed at promoting puppet theatres and cooperation in this area, familiarizing youth with the best works of the puppet theatres.

Currently, there are 37 professional theatres, of which ten are puppet theatres.

During the festival, the works of ten puppet theatres were analyzed, UzA reported. The theatres presented their works.

The Samarkand regional puppet theatre named after Asror Juraev took the first place. Kashkadarya region puppet theatre was second, while Ferghana regional puppet theatre – third.
