Prospects for the development of tourism: the role of small and private businesses
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samarkand is one of the best historic cities known for its archeological sites in Uzbekistan.This is an important factor in the further development of the tourist infrastructure of this ancient and eternally young city. In recent years, tourism is one of the leading sectors of the regional economy.

Samarkand regional council of UzLiDeP within the party project “Development of tourism” organized the seminar entitled «the role of small and private businesses». Deputies of local councils of people’s deputies, representatives of the National Company “Uzbektourism”, professors and lecturers of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, representatives of other organizations participated at the seminar to discuss the further develop tourism in the country, the active promotion of national tourism services at the international market as well as training of personnel.

- Head of the State pays special attention to the development of the tourism industryin Samarkand. Today, there are 70 travel agencies and more than 4 thousand modern hotels provide quality services to guests, - said regional manager of the National Company “Uzbektourism” I.Suvonov.

In 2014 Samarkand visited more than 150 thousand tourists from more than 70 countries around the world, in 2015 are expected to visit 200 thousand tourists.

UzLiDeP believes that tourism is a profitable and promising sector of the economy and its development will create new jobs and increase the wellbeing of the population. In this regard, UzLiDeP stands for the provision of support, benefits and privileges to representatives of the electorate, engaged in tourism, increasing the attraction of investments into the sector.
