Prospects for expanding cooperation with JBIC representatives were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan with a delegation of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), led by the managing director of the bank, head of the Global Financing of Infrastructure and Environmental Projects group, Hiroki Sekine.

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) is a leading public financial institution owned by the Japanese government and operating in the international financial market. JBIC supports projects around the world, including the infrastructure, natural resources and renewable energy sectors, by providing direct loans, guarantees and equity capital. This contributes to the sustainable development of both the Japanese and global economies.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Japan Center for International Projects, as well as Hitachi Zosen, Sumitomo Shoji and Marubeni. Representatives of Japanese companies presented their activities and implemented projects in different countries.

Hitachi Zosen specializes in waste-to-energy generation, desalination plants, and water and wastewater treatment plants.

Sumitomo Shoji and Marubeni presented projects in the field of infrastructure and energy.

Marubeni is one of the large Japanese companies covering various sectors of the economy. The company has an extensive import and export network, operating in the fields of information technology, logistics, food, chemicals, metals and mineral resources, energy and freight transportation.

Sumitomo Shoji, one of the largest and oldest commercial and industrial corporations in Japan, unites companies in the financial sector, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, metallurgy and other fields.

The parties discussed the prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and JBIC in new areas. Representatives of Japan expressed interest in participating in the implementation of public-private partnership projects in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the further development and strengthening of multilateral cooperation.
