Prospects for developing the country’s export potential were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 December, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting in the format of a videoconference to discuss current activities to support entrepreneurs and exporters and implement measures to fully utilize the country’s export potential. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev.

The meeting was attended by heads of relevant ministries and departments, industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities.

In the context of regions and industries, the results of the work carried out to support manufacturers and exporters are considered. The analysis showed that in the period from January to December of this year, goods and services worth US$13 billion were exported. At the same time, insufficiently effective work of responsible managers was noted in providing exporting enterprises with the necessary loans to replenish working capital, return previously paid VAT amounts, connect to utilities and uninterrupted supply of energy resources.

In a critical vein, reports were heard from responsible managers assigned to specific enterprises on upcoming measures as part of comprehensive support for exporters in order to fully utilize the existing export potential of regions and industries. Specific tasks were set to carry out daily monitoring, active interaction with entrepreneurs and provide timely comprehensive support to increase the volume of export deliveries.

Based on the results of the meeting, the relevant leaders were given additional targeted instructions within the framework of the issues discussed, with the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan entrusting control over their proper execution.
