Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Agency for Strategic Reforms held a meeting with the First Deputy Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Alexey Zabolzaev and the Deputy Governor of the district Sergey Afanasyev within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024).

At the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of industry, entrepreneurship and technology. The Russian side expressed plans to grow raw materials in Uzbekistan for the production of guar gum, used in oil production.

Alexey Zabolzaev noted that a plant for the production of guar gum is already operating in Khanty-Mansiysk, and now raw materials are required that can be grown in Uzbekistan due to more suitable climatic conditions. The authorities of Khanty-Mansiysk, together with the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, are already working out the details of establishing the production of guar raw materials.

Sergey Afanasyev expressed his readiness to strengthen cooperation between the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and the regions of Uzbekistan and announced the upcoming provision of trade and economic projects for joint implementation.

The Russian side also invited to take part in the XV International IT Forum with the participation of the BRICS and SCO countries, which will take place from June 18 to 20, 2024 in Khanty-Mansiysk.
