Prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Italian region of Lombardy were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Faizullaev held a meeting with the head of the department of international relations and foreign trade of the Association of Industrial and Services Enterprises of Italy “Assolombarda” Chiara Fanali, Dunyo news agency reported.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the development of industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Italian region of Lombardy. In particular, a proposal was proposed and supported to organize the production of textile and footwear products based on Italian technology and experience under the trademark “Made in Italy - Made in Uzbekistan” (“Made in Uzbekistan by Italian design”).

Since 1910, Italian manufacturing and service enterprises have been part of the Confindustria association, created to protect and support their interests. Today, Confindustria unites 151 thousand enterprises, 216 regional and industry associations, employing 5.38 million people, and their share in the country’s gross domestic product is 34%.

The Assolombarda Association in the Lombardy region unites 7,080 companies located in the provinces of Milan, Lodi, Monza Brianza and Pavia. It protects the interests of its members in relations with state and local authorities, socio-political associations, and also provides services in the field of business development, enterprise and employee management, the use of tax and financial benefits, and also provides access to foreign markets.

In the local economy, 30% of the enterprises included in the association are engaged in electromechanics, 30% in industry, innovation and tourism sectors, 10% in the chemical industry. In addition, local businesses are active in the vehicle manufacturing, business communications services and fashion industries.
