Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 July, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ensieh Khazali, who is on a visit to our country.

Relations between Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are consistently developing, especially trade, economic and political dialogue.

At the meeting, topical issues of developing bilateral cooperation, further strengthening inter-parliamentary relations between our countries, expanding partnerships within international structures were discussed.

During the conversation, it was especially emphasized that our friendly peoples are connected by deep historical ties, similar mentality, traditions and spiritual values. In recent years, thanks to the decisiveness and firmness of the heads of state, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has been rapidly developing, inter-parliamentary relations have also reached a new level, in this context, it is important to exercise parliamentary control in order to ensure the practical implementation by the parliaments of the two countries of the agreements reached at the highest level.

In turn, the guest thanked for the warm welcome, noted the intensification of practical visits of representatives of parliaments, governments, entrepreneurs between the two countries, expressed confidence that the full implementation of the documents signed between our states regarding cooperation in various fields will certainly bear fruit in the future. 

“Reforms are being carried out at a fast pace in Uzbekistan, we have seen it with our own eyes. In particular, legislative acts on the protection of women's rights are being improved, their role and place in society is increasing. It is certainly admirable. Iran is also implementing a number of programs and measures in this direction. In this sense, both countries are interested in exchanging experience and establishing cooperation, Ensieh Khazali emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, held in a friendly atmosphere, an agreement was reached on further strengthening cooperation in the implementation of long-term plans and projects.
