Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 February, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Canada Alan Hamson.

At the beginning of the conversation, the Chairperson of the Senate sincerely congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a high and responsible position and wished him success in his future activities.

During the meeting, issues of developing constructive cooperation between Uzbekistan and Canada were discussed, including increasing the level of inter-parliamentary dialogue, expanding contacts in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that trade and economic cooperation is becoming important in relations between the two countries; it is necessary to establish promising projects in the mining, energy, oil and gas industries.

An exchange of views also took place on the development of scientific and technical ties, including in the field of education, strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism, ecology and environmental protection.
