Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 May 2019, a meeting was held between the Acting Chairman of the State Committee of Tourism A.Akkulov and the head of the TIKA Turkish agency S.Kayalar in Ankara (Turkey).
As part of the negotiations, the Uzbek side congratulated S. Kayalar with a new position and informed that TIKA is one of Uzbekistan’s permanent partners in the development of the tourism industry. Also, the foreign party was informed about the main reforms, tax and customs benefits and preferences implemented in the country for the development of the tourism industry.
At the same time, during the negotiations, the Uzbek side proposed to consider the implementation of the following joint projects for 2020:
- Creation of similar laboratories in tourism colleges, created by TIKA for Sergeli College of Tourism;
- Attracting TIKA experts to improve the service of tourist services;
- Joint promotion of the potential of pilgrim tourism in Uzbekistan.
Taking the opportunity, the Uzbek side expressed gratitude for the video dissemination through the social networks of the leadership of the Republic of Turkey, prepared with the assistance of TIKA. Also, the Turkish side proposed a project for the joint restoration of holy sites in the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region, often visited by Turkish pilgrims during their travels in Uzbekistan.
In turn, S. Kayalar noted that today Uzbekistan has a priority place among the countries cooperating with TIKA, and spoke about ongoing projects related to improving the tourist potential of Uzbekistan.
Also, the foreign partner informed that in the process of project implementation, TIKA pays special attention to the development of personnel in the field of tourism.
At the same time, the foreign side asked to submit applications for the proposed projects until October 2019 for consideration when formulating the TICA budget for 2020. In addition, regarding the promotion, the foreign side informed that, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkey and the State Tourism Committee, it is ready to assist in the creation of information and distribution materials and distribution among the population of the Republic of Turkey.
