Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 June, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva received a delegation from Malaysia led by Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

The parties expressed interest in the active development of friendly relations and multilateral partnership between Uzbekistan and Malaysia, especially in the areas of politics, trade, economics, investment, culture, humanitarian issues and tourism.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of trusting and constructive relations between the President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia for the development of cooperation.

At the meeting, joint programs in the field of education, advanced training in mechanical engineering and technology, as well as the launch of pilgrimage tourism were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to interparliamentary cooperation. It was noted that regular contacts and visits have intensified in recent years, and for their further development it is necessary to strengthen the work of “friendship groups”.

The need to assist in ensuring the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, within the framework of parliamentary control, was emphasized.

At the end of the conversation, an agreement was reached on the development of a corresponding document on cooperation between the Senates of Uzbekistan and Malaysia, which will reflect specific measures in the field of legislation, parliamentary control, interaction of committees and regional development.
