Prosecutor requests 20 years in prison for “Bakhti Tashkentsky”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Yunusabad District Court of Tashkent has concluded the judicial investigation in the case of Bakhtiyor Kudratullaev, known as “Bakhti Tashkentsky” along with 36 other individuals, moving on to arguments.

Bakhtiyor Kudratullaev is accused in 44 criminal episodes. The state prosecutor has requested a total sentence of 20 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony, recognition as a particularly dangerous repeat offender, and compulsory treatment for drug addiction.

Kudratullaev faces charges including intentional grievous bodily harm motivated by greed, intentional minor bodily harm, extortion on a large scale by an organized group, large-scale fraud by conspiracy, organizing a criminal community, and other crimes.

The prosecutor has also requested sentences for Bakhti Tashkentsky’s son Bekzod Zafarov — 11 years of imprisonment, and for his second son Ikhtiyor Kudratullaev — 12 years of imprisonment.

At the next hearing, the court will hear from defense lawyers and defendants. The court session has been adjourned until July 15.

Among the defendants are 37 individuals, including Bakhtiyor Kudratullaev’s brother Shuhrat Kudratullaev, Avaz Mashrafkhanov, Sanjar Khatamov, Jamshid Soliev, Dilshod Sharipov, Shukurali Kurbanov, Otabek Islamov, and others.
