Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva held a dialogue with the manager of the UN structure for Uzbekistan Ceren Güven Güres.

At the meeting, issues of further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations entity UN Women through the implementation of joint projects were discussed.

In particular, attention was paid to such areas as expanding the economic opportunities of women and developing women’s entrepreneurship, ensuring their social protection, and creating decent jobs.

It was separately noted that Uzbekistan, as one of the most active countries in the world in ensuring gender equality, is implementing specific measures, including the Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality until 2030, and the tasks set in the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy are in line with the ideas of the UN.

Also during the conversation, views were exchanged on future joint plans, as well as ongoing international events.
