Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with plans for various projects aimed at construction and urban development.
The Yunusabad Dehkan Market in Tashkent, one of the busiest markets in the city, faces limitations on expansion due to space constraints and congested adjacent streets. To address this, a decision has been made to develop the market according to a modern "vertical" concept. According to the project, a three-story eco-market will be built on the site of the existing market, preserving its traditional appearance. The project will also include a shopping center, a jewelry house, and an underground parking lot for more than 1,000 cars. The construction is expected to create 4-5 thousand jobs. The President instructed that the construction be carried out in stages so that the market can continue operating.
The Abdulla Qadiriy Park will become one of the key areas for landscaping. The project includes expanding green spaces, creating walking areas, fountains, a planetarium, and a gastro-hall. All new objects will be harmoniously integrated into the architectural ensemble of the Old City and the Chorsu market. The President emphasized the importance of preserving the national color and reflecting the city’s history in the design:
"These plans are good, but more national character should be added. Everyone, regardless of age, should find a place they enjoy in the park."
The "Dustlik" Park will be fully renovated. The project includes the reconstruction of walking paths, ponds, and recreational areas, as well as the creation of a family entertainment zone, a children’s creativity center, a skate park, an aviary, and a Ferris wheel. The adjacent area will include pavilions representing national cultural centers, each reflecting the unique traditions and culture of the people it represents.
In the "Navruz" Park, established in 2019, additional facilities for recreation will be created. Plans include building a hotel, a sports complex, a restaurant, and a conference hall.
As part of regional development, projects will also affect the "Yangi Uzbekistan" parks in Nurafshan and Namangan. Tourist centers with oriental markets, craft zones, amphitheaters, fountains, and other structures will be built nearby. Green spaces will be expanded by planting new trees.
The President emphasized the importance of ensuring high-quality implementation of these projects, ensuring they meet modern standards and create comfortable conditions for residents and tourists.
