The project on reconstruction of Chorsu Hotel was presented to President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov during his visit to new bridge at the crossroads of Sebzar and Abdulla Qodiriy.

Uzbek leader gave his recommendations on design of rooms. Islam Karimov also said that it is time to rename “Old City” district as this name is not actual now.

Chorsu Hotel was constructed in 1982. The hotel consists of 23 floors and had 450 rooms. The hotel complex was closed for reconstruction in early 2000, but the reconstruction works were not completed.
