Uzbek President approved a programme on further development of physical culture and mass sports in Uzbekistan.

The programme envisages measures on further improving the legislation aimed at developing the system of organization and management of physical culture and sports.

It is planned to realize measures to strengthen the material and technical base of physical culture and sports, build modern sports complexes, equip them with modern sports equipment and tools, etc.

The programme also stipulates measures to increase prestige and expansion of three-level sports games Umid Nihollari, Barkamol Avlod and the Universiade via inclusion of new types of mass sports, as well as cardinal improvement of the system of worthy encouragement of winners and prize-winners of sports competitions.

The resolution also includes measures to organize sports medicine departments in regional at the multi-sectoral medical centers and to strengthen their material and technical base.

According to the decree, in 2017-2021, Uzbekistan will send more than 995.2 billion soums to further development of physical culture and mass sports.

Over 706.2 billion soums will be spent to construction, reconstruction, overhaul, equipment and re-equipment of 167 sports facilities, including 90 sports complexes and 77 swimming pools.
