The completion of full renewal of the aircraft fleet of the Military Transport Aviation of Russia is planned for 2020, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force Colonel General Alexander Zelin told media.
"It is impossible to renew the whole fleet at once. There is no need to do so either. New aircrafts will be delivered taking into account the fact that two new machines will be required every three years. By 2020, the aircraft fleet will be fully renewed," he said.
Zelin also said that the production of IL-76 military-transport aircrafts will be moved from Tashkent to Ulyanovsk. "Ulyanovsk aircraft producer will set up the production of modernized IL-76MF, and renew the production of An-124-100 "Ruslan’s," he added.
