Meat and milk industry is one of the important sectors of food industry, which provides key products to population. Uzbekistan increase meat and milk production twice since it gained independence.

According to the governmental programme on expanding and developing food industry for 2012-2015, Uzbekistan plans 1.167 million tonnes in 2015 and processing level will reach 12.1%. It is also planned to increase production of sausage products from 26,200 tonnes in 2012 to 35,000 tonnes in 2015 and tinned meat products from 3.96 million to 4.65 million jars.

Production and processing of milk in Uzbekistan will grow from 7.187 million tonnes in 2012 to 8.675 million tonnes in 2015, while processing level will grow from 9.6% to 14%.

It was said that meat products market annually grow by 10% in average, which is connect with growth of income of population and support of the government.

Small and private businesses are main producers of meat products in Uzbekistan. Along with creation of new enterprises, the industry actively invests to modernization of production capacities. Currently, meat processing industry works on equipment from Germany, Austria, Poland, Belarus and Russia. The country produces over 150 types of meat products.

The meeting underlined that alternative energy use is becoming actual issue for farmers, who produce meat and milk products. In this connection, the participants discussed opportunities of use of bio gas facilities. They also considered opportunities on use of innovative technologies in production of goods and their storage.
