Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 January, a meeting took place between a delegation led by Ariel Malard de Rothschild, member of the Supervisory Board of Rothschild & Co, and Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.
The event was also attended by Giovanni Salvetti, Managing Director and Head of CIS for Rothschild & Co; Simon Bard, the company’s restructuring and financing consultant; Khurshed Mustafayev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance; Aziz Akbarjonov, Chairman of the Board of JSCB "O’zsanoatqurilishbank"; and other key representatives.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, the development of the banking and financial sector, and the privatization of state-owned banks. Particular attention was given to the transformation and modernization of companies within the energy sector.
The discussions also covered the privatization of banks, Rothschild & Co’s expertise in this area, and the ongoing privatization processes at O’zsanoatqurilishbank. The focus was on integrating successful practices and effective mechanisms into these initiatives.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue systematic collaboration to achieve their shared goals and foster mutual cooperation.
