Private preschool and school organizations exempted from taxes and duties in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree "On Additional Measures to Increase Private Sector Participation in Education", introducing significant benefits for private educational institutions.

According to the decree, private preschool and secondary educational institutions will be exempt from all taxes and duties (excluding social tax) until 1 January 2030.

Additionally, foreign teachers and specialists employed by these institutions will be exempt from personal income tax and social tax.

Private educational organizations will also enjoy customs duty exemptions on imported goods not produced in Uzbekistan (except for customs clearance fees). These exemptions apply to modern educational equipment, laboratory tools, computer technology, software, academic and methodological literature, and teaching instruments.

Starting from 1 January 2025, private educational institutions will be able to issue "A-2" visas to foreign specialists employed on a permanent basis.

For foreign specialists recruited by both public and private educational institutions, the work permit fee will be reduced from 30 times to 1 size of the basic estimated value (BEV).
