Private farms have over 464,000 heads of cattle
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 April 2009, the sown area of private farms (including winter crops for yield of 2009) was 1.728 million hectares, including 1.286 million hectares under grains, 367,800 hectares under industrial crops (including 342,100 hectares under cotton), 6,400 hectares under potatoes, 22,300 hectares under melons and gourds and 45,500 hectares under forage crops.

Private farms had 464,400 heads of cattle (including 157,000 cows), 1.102 million sheep and goats, 10,400 pigs, 2.563 million heads of poultry.

In the reporting period, the number of cattle increased by 29,500 heads or 6.8%, of which cows by 10,000 heads or 6.8%, sheep and goats - by 51,900 heads or 4.9% and poultry - by 838,300 heads or 48.6%.
