The government of Uzbekistan adopted decision to improve efficiency of activity of educational establishments on training and re-training of drivers, and system of issuing driving licenses.

In line with the resolution of the government, from 1 January 2011, training and re-training of drivers of automobiles and public electric transport means could be carried out only by state educational establishments, Vatanparvar, Toshshahartranshizmat (Tashkent City Public Transport Service) Association, Transkasb Association and Voluntary Public Automobile Lovers of Uzbekistan.

Till 1 April 2011, non-governmental educational establishments and other organizations, carrying our activity on training and re-training drivers of automobiles and public electric transport means, should complete education of existing groups and stop this type of activity.

The Government of Uzbekistan ordered the State Road Security Service of the Interior Ministry and other interested sides to redevelop curriculum and programmes on training and retraining of drivers of all categories. At the same time, they should pay special attention to training drivers, participating in cargo and passenger transportation.
