Priority areas for further deepening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Germany on 2-3 May opened a new page in relations between the two countries.

During this visit, the head of state spoke about the importance of Uzbekistan becoming an effective and reliable platform for German business in the new realities of large-scale and serious shocks in the global economy.

As a logical continuation of this visit, in order to bring bilateral relations to a higher level, on 12 May this year, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, together with the Representation of the German Economy in Central Asia, organized a business dialogue with the participation of ministries and departments, as well as business circles of the two countries.

The main purpose of this event is to establish business contacts between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and members of the German delegation, present and discuss large investment projects in Uzbekistan, as well as identify priority areas for further deepening cooperation.

The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vahabov and the Head of the Foreign Trade Department of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection of Germany Dominik Schnichels delivered a welcoming speech.

The event was also attended by German companies involved in large-scale projects in the fields of "green" energy, agriculture, chemical, mining, textile, electrical industry and other areas.

As a result, B2B negotiations were held between Uzbek and German businesses, and a number of cooperation agreements were signed, including a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the German Textile Association - Gesamtmasche.

In conclusion, the parties expressed satisfaction with the results of the negotiations and agreed on further cooperation in the implementation of joint activities.
