During the talks, the sides considered the present state and perspectives of trade and economic relations, as well as long-term cooperation in the investment sphere.
At the negotiations of the official delegations of the two countries, it was noted that the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan was developing consistently based on principles of mutual respect and interest, UzA reported.
Yousuf Raza Gilani said Uzbekistan was one of the important partners of Pakistan in the Central Asian region, and his country was interested in expansion and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan.
“Pakistan highly values relations with Uzbekistan,” Yousuf Raza Gilani said. “We are interested in expanding cooperation in areas like parliamentary relations, agriculture, transport communications, and others.
During the talks, the agreement was reached on stimulating cooperation in the regional transport and communication sector. The sides agreed to support cooperation of the business circles, expanding mutual trade and increasing the number of joint ventures.
At the completion of the talks, Uzbekistan and Pakistan signed the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the veterinary field, and the protocol on exchange of ratification notes of the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in transport and goods transit.
