Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 May, as part of the Central Asia – China Summit in Xi'an, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
Current issues of further developing multifaceted cooperation and deepening strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were considered.
The leaders highly appreciated the fruitful results of the next Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation meeting held in Tashkent on 12 May.
The importance of the practical implementation of the decisions taken to increase the trade turnover and promote industrial cooperation projects, including in the energy, mechanical engineering, agricultural, transport, communications, and other industries, was noted.
Leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan also exchanged views on the current issues on the regional agenda and considered a schedule of the upcoming events.
