Presidents of Uzbekistan and France got acquainted with the exhibition of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and planted a tree together

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- After high-level talks in Samarkand, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of France Emmanuel Macron got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage.

The exhibition contains exhibits from 7 museums in Uzbekistan. The exhibition of rare objects giving an idea of the country’s people’s ancient history and rich culture is built as a chronological excursion.

With the development of transcontinental ties, the country’s territory has become a center of trade, science, education, culture, and architecture. Many cultures – Turkic, Persian, Greco-Bactrian, Arab, Indian, Chinese, and other peoples – left their mark on ancient monuments. The exhibition emphasizes the exhibits’ elegance, cultural and historical significance and will arouse a desire to travel around the country.

The exhibition consists of 3 sections. The first section is devoted to the period of ancient states, the spread of cultures along the Silk Road, and the Kushan Empire, displaying figurines, gold objects, and coins. Notably, some of them were found during a joint expedition of Uzbekistan and French scientists.

The second part introduces the flourishing of art and culture, roads, and caravans in antiquity and the Middle Ages.

The third section is devoted to the spread of Islam and the development of culture and science in Central Asia during the Renaissance and Temurids. Visitors can become familiar with the manuscripts of such great scientists as Muhammad Musa Al-Khwarizmi, Abu Ali ibn Sina, Abu Rayhan Beruni, Imam Bukhari, Mirzo Ulugbek, and Alisher Navoi. This section is organized around the figure of the great ruler Amir Temur. It presents decorative objects from the period and a letter from the King of France to Sahibkiran.

The exhibition made a great impression on the President of France and members of the delegation.

The heads of state planted a tree in the park of the Samarkand Congress Center as a sign of commitment to further rapprochement and strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
