Presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan to discuss cooperation issues
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev will pay a working visit to Uzbekistan on 13-14 June 2011 on invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It is expected that the sides will discuss issues of expanding the Uzbek-Russian cooperation, actual issues of regional and international character, representing mutual interest.
Russia is the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan. Trade turnover between the countries grew by 55.9% from US$823.3 million in the first quarter of 2010 to US$1.284 billion in January-March 2011.
At the same time, the share of Russia in total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up 22.4% in the first quarter of 2011.
