Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the WBM Romitex enterprise in Romitan district.

The company has great potential. The cost of the project is more than 93 million dollars. The territory of the complex is 20 hectares, including 7 hectares of production space. Installed advanced equipment from Turkey and Germany. Capacities for the production of 25,000 tons of yarn per year and 1,000 jobs have been created.

- I am glad that such an enterprise appeared in the conditions of Romitan. The state helped with infrastructure, funds, opportunities. The most important result is that a thousand of our women got a job,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

A great help for such enterprises was the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to support the activities of cotton-textile clusters, fundamental reform of the textile and clothing and knitwear industry, as well as further increase the export potential of the sector” dated January 10 this year. In particular, the provision of working capital through revolving lending ensured the stability of production.

At the second stage of the project, it is planned to launch the production of finished fabric. Most importantly, this will create about 3,000 jobs in rural areas.

The head of state gave instructions on improving the quality and expanding the range of products, establishing exports.
