Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law “On the Accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the International Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms, and Broadcasting Organizations (Rome, on 26 October 1961).”

This law was adopted by the Legislative Chamber on 26 March 2024, and approved by the Senate on 18 May 2024.

The convention aims to protect the related rights of performers, producers of phonograms, and broadcasting organizations in the contracting states, providing them with national treatment in the protection of their rights.

Currently, the convention has about 100 member states, including several CIS countries.
