Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the second Tashkent International Investment Forum and deliver an opening speech at the plenary session.

The session will also be attended by President of the Islamic Development Bank Muhammad bin Suleiman al-Jasser, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov, UN Deputy Secretary General Olga Algaerova, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suheil al-Mazrui, Minister of Economic Development of Hungary Marton Nagy, Chairman of ACWA Power, Muhammad Abdullah Abunayan. The moderator will be Jonathan Charles, Communications Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The forum contributes to the strengthening of international relations of our country and the development of economic cooperation with other states. The participation of representatives of various countries allows the exchange of experience and knowledge, as well as expanding the geography of partnership.

The program of events of the Tashkent International Investment Forum this year is rich. A plenary session, 28 panel sessions and round tables are expected, a number of ceremonies for signing major investment agreements and trade contracts, discussions on current topics in the business world, including trends in the development of the investment sector, digitalization of financial institutions, and modern monetary policy.

More than 150 speakers will take part in them - heads of leading international companies, funds, well-known economists and experts from a number of countries, who will discuss trends in the world of investment, prospects for the development of "green" energy, e-commerce and many other topical issues of deepening economic cooperation at the international level .

The first TMIF took place in 2022, and that forum became significant in terms of the agreements reached. A solid package of firm contracts and investment agreements worth $7.8 billion was concluded. The parties also reached agreements on the implementation of projects worth $3.5 billion.

This year’s investment forum has all the prerequisites to update and improve these figures. Over 2,500 people from countries such as the USA, EU, UK, CIS, Turkey, China, Southeast Asia, India, Egypt, and the countries of the Middle East will take part in TMIF-2023. For comparison, last year more than 1.5 thousand people applied for participation.

The course of the forum will be covered by more than 200 media representatives, of which about 100 are foreign.

At TMIF-2023, bilateral meetings and negotiations in the G2G, G2B and B2B formats will be held, within which priority projects and the development of cooperation in the future will be discussed.
