Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On the Status of a Teacher,” which defines the rights, responsibilities and guarantees for teachers, as well as the principles of remuneration, incentives and social protection.

Now the state guarantees the protection of the rights, honor, dignity and business reputation of teachers.

According to the new law, those starting their professional activities in an educational organization will be assigned an experienced teacher as a mentor for one academic year.

The law prohibits interference in the professional activities of a teacher during the implementation of his professional activities, involvement in work not related to the professional activities of a teacher, involvement of a teacher on duty in an educational organization during the autumn-winter period and on non-working holidays, obliging a teacher to purchase goods and services , including withholding funds for goods and services from the official salary without his consent.

Now teachers are not required to provide reports and information not related to their professional responsibilities.

Additionally, prohibitions have been established on imposing on teachers the obligation to purchase goods and services without their written consent, and a list of persons who are not allowed to engage in teaching activities has been determined, including persons deprived of the right to engage in teaching activities by a court decision, persons with limited legal capacity, and persons with diseases , interfering with teaching activities, and previously convicted of an intentional crime.
