The sides discussed issues of expansion of ties between Uzbekistan and the UAE, particularly in the economy and investments sphere.

The commodity turnover between the two countries made up USD 93.1 million in 2007. Almost 70 joint ventures created with UAE investments operate in Uzbekistan in the areas of foodstuff production, electronics, textile, construction materials and transport services.

Dubai Holding is one of the largest investment companies of the United Arab Emirates and participates in a number of economic projects in Uzbekistan.
