Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 May, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the President of the OPEC Fund for International Development Abdulhamid Alkhalifa as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum program.

The President of Uzbekistan noted the vital role of the OPEC Fund for International Development in achieving the main Sustainable Development Goals and highly appreciated the business projects financed in Uzbekistan in industry, infrastructure, water supply, and others.

The urgency of swiftly preparing and implementing projects under the $500 million Agreement signed during the Forum was highlighted. This document paves the way for the exploration of new areas of practical interaction – tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, ecology, support for women’s entrepreneurship, and youth initiatives.
