Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 October, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Board of Nebras Power, Muhammad Al-Hajri, upon his arrival in the city of Doha.

Nebras Power is a leading Qatari energy corporation. The company’s portfolio includes large projects in more than 10 countries.

During the meeting, practical aspects of developing mutually beneficial cooperation to promote new projects in the energy sector, especially alternative energy, were discussed.

The head of our state noted with satisfaction the start of implementation, with the participation of a Qatari company, of a project for the construction of a modern power plant in Syrdarya region based on combined cycle gas technologies with a capacity of 1.6 GW.

Preparation of work on the project for the construction of a thermal power plant in Surkhandarya region is being completed.

Joint plans were discussed to create energy storage systems with a capacity of 600 MW in Tashkent region and launch wind generation with a capacity of 1 GW in Karakalpakstan.

An agreement was reached on the adoption of a long-term partnership program with the inclusion of promising projects, primarily in the field of green energy.
