The decree was signed on 22 December 2016. The decree said that abolishment of visa for 27 countries, arriving in Uzbekistan, was postponed till 1 January 2021.

Uzbek President signed the decree on 2 December, in line with which Uzbekistan planned to abolish visas for tourists from 15 countries and visitors from 12 countries whose age is over 55 years old from 1 April 2017.

The decree said that the State Committee on Development of tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior Affairs, State Customs Committee and other ministries and departments proposed to postpone abolishment of visa for these countries till 2021.

The decree said that from 1 January 2021, Uzbekistan will cancel the visa regime for the citizens of Australia, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Finland, Switzerland and Japan, entering the country for tourism for a period of no more than 30 days.

From the same, Uzbekistan also abolishes the visa regime for citizens from Belgium, Indonesia, China (a part of tourist groups), Malaysia, the USA, France, Vietnam, Israel, Poland, Hungary, Portugal and the Czech Republic, who have reached 55 years of age and entering Uzbekistan for tourism at a period not exceeding 30 days.

Citizens of these countries at the entrance to Uzbekistan will pay an entry fee of US$50.

President also postponed introduction of electronic visa and customs “green zone” for foreign tourists at international airports of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench.

The separate passage of passport control to residents and non-residents at airports and railway stations will be also introduced from 2021.
