President of Uzbekistan offers condolences to the leadership and people of India following Kashmir terror attack

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has extended a message of condolence to President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the tragic consequences of a terrorist attack that occurred in the Kashmir region, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries.

In his message, the Uzbek head of state expressed his deep condolences and words of support to the families of the victims and to the friendly people of India, as well as wished a speedy and full recovery to all those injured.

On 22 April 2025, one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in recent years took place in the Baisaran area near the resort town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, India. Armed militants opened fire on a group of tourists on a horseback excursion. According to Reuters, the attack claimed the lives of at least 27 people, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, while around 17 others were wounded.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the attack was the most significant assault on civilians in India since 2008 and has sparked a wave of protests and heightened security measures across the region.
