Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 April, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of Uzbekistan congratulated Valentina Matvienko on her birthday, wishing her good health, prosperity and great success.

The active role of the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Russia in strengthening Uzbek-Russian relations at the level of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, as well as in the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, was noted.

At the end of the conversation, the importance of further development of interparliamentary interaction, including within the framework of international and regional organizations, was emphasized.
