Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 April, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulatif bin Rashid al-Zayani, which is participating in the events of the second meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries of Central Asia and the Arab States of the Gulf, taking place these days in the city of Tashkent.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain conveyed to the head of our state the sincere greetings and best wishes of King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

Issues of further development and deepening of the Uzbek-Bahrain multifaceted partnership were discussed.

The importance of intensifying political dialogue and speedily launching the mechanism of political consultations was emphasized.

The great potential and wide opportunities for trade and economic cooperation, promotion of programs and projects in the banking and financial sector, construction of roads and railways, modernization of energy infrastructure and other priority areas were noted.

For these purposes, this year it is planned to hold the first meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Committee and launch the Business Council with the participation of representatives of leading companies of Uzbekistan and Bahrain.

An exchange of views on the international agenda, including issues of countering modern security threats, also took place.

The leader of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain on his anniversary, wishing him good health and great success.
