Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 October, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

During the conversation, current issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed. The consistent strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was emphasized with satisfaction. Indicators of mutual trade turnover and the number of joint ventures are steadily growing, and industrial cooperation projects are being implemented in the automotive, textile, electrical, logistics, and other industries.

The fruitful results of the first meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Council between the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan were noted.

Particular attention was paid to developing close inter-parliamentary ties to unconditionally implement agreements at the highest level and expand interregional cooperation and cultural and humanitarian exchange.

The exchange of experience in the legislative activity, the development of self-government bodies, and youth support, including the organization of visits by delegations of young deputies, were identified as important areas of collaboration.
