Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Current issues of further strengthening strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were considered during a telephone conversation between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, on 24 July.

The Leader of Tajikistan cordially congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, and prosperity to the fraternal people of Uzbekistan.

Issues of preparation for the upcoming high-level events and filling the agenda of bilateral relations with specific practical content were discussed.

The leaders expressed a unanimous opinion on the importance of further intensifying business and humanitarian contacts, including holding joint exhibitions and fairs and cultural and sports events with the broad involvement of young people.

Issues of regional interaction were considered, including within the framework of the mechanisms of regular Consultative meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
