Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized double standards regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The head of state noted that bloody events have been going on for eight months, resulting in the deaths of about 40 thousand civilians, including children and the elderly.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep concern about the West's reaction to the conflict in the Middle East, emphasizing that double standards are observed in practice.

He noted that leading developed countries that actively promote democracy and human rights turn a blind eye to these killings and atrocities.

The President of Uzbekistan called for a complete cessation of violence and a peaceful solution to the problem. He stressed that in order to achieve a stable and lasting peace, it is necessary to create an independent and free Palestinian state.

Mirziyoyev also expressed full support for the efforts of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to resolve this issue.
