Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  New tasks have been assigned to the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.

The President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On Additional Measures for the Further Development of Medical and Wellness Tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan."

According to this resolution, 50% of the expenses for the accreditation of the first 30 private medical institutions accredited by the Joint Commission International will be reimbursed.

The Tourism Committee is tasked with conducting an awareness campaign about the capabilities of medical and wellness institutions in the republic for foreign citizens at the border customs posts of Uzbekistan.

Additionally, the committee is to create and regularly update a unified registry of medical and wellness institutions in both the state and foreign languages.

Among the new tasks is the organization of the certification of hotel-type sanatoriums with star ratings, as well as the development of special routes for medical and wellness tourism.

By 1 March 2025, an electronic platform will be launched to form a rating system that will allow for the assessment of the quality of services provided by medical institutions, sanatoriums, and tour operators in the field of medical tourism.

Furthermore, by the specified date, a unified registry of medical and wellness institutions will be created in state and foreign languages.
