Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Next week, President of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol will make state visits to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This was announced today by his office.

First Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo said the president will leave for a six-day trip on Monday, accompanied by First Lady Kim Keon Hee. As part of his visit, he will visit three Central Asian countries and return on 15 June.

“Central Asia, which was the center of the ancient Silk Road, is a strategic point connecting Europe and Asia,” Kim said at a press briefing.

“The strategic importance of the region is increasing due to global political crises such as the war in Ukraine and the conflict in the Middle East,” he added.
