The agreement was signed on 6 October 2017 in the city of Tashkent. The law was passed by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on 21 December 2017.
The document is aimed at strengthening security and confidence, maintaining calm and stability in the region of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border.
The agreement will allow cooperation on regional security and stability issues, combating terrorism and illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, countering new challenges and threats, as well as illegal migration across the state border.
The law enters into force ten days after the day of its official publication.
