President of Belarus proposed to more actively create joint pharmaceutical production with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko today, at talks with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in an expanded format, proposed actively creating joint pharmaceutical productions, BELTA correspondent reports.

“You can do so much that we need to learn from you. We are ready to completely transfer those technologies that we have left from the Soviet Union (we added something, you know this) to the territory of Uzbekistan,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

The head of state cited the pharmaceutical industry as an example. Uzbekistan is interested in the supply of medicines, so the President proposes joint production. “We can create joint production here, and he (the President of Uzbekistan - BELTA) will bring any substance here: he has colossal connections in the world. And we can produce medicines here,” the head of state suggested.

As noted by the Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Karanik, the parties are discussing this issue in detail. Belarus and Uzbekistan want to analyze the regulatory framework in order to simplify the registration of drugs and compile a list of the most popular drugs. “With the prospect of sales to neighboring countries,” the governor said.

“As for technical registration. Listen, we have a “dictatorship” - we can resolve the issue quickly. The main thing is that you have an agreement,” Alexander Lukashenko noted. “Let’s create this together.”

In turn, Shavkat Mirziyoyev assured that the Uzbek side is ready to provide guarantees for the purchase of Belarusian pharmaceutical products for the required number of years. “Your quality suits us,” he said.

Speaking generally about cooperation between countries, Alexander Lukashenko added that some areas are not developing as quickly as we would like. “This means that you, members of the government, ministers, fell short somewhere, guys. Therefore, let’s agree - we must do it,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
