Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is currently holding a meeting with activists of Uchtepa district of Tashkent city.

The head of state spoke about the need to reform the Uzbekistan Airways.

“For many years we have not been able to operate efficiently in our airline industry. Now it’s time to carry out reforms in Uzbekistan Airways. The company must be free, open and competitive,” the President said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev mentioned that today the company’s air fleet has about 30 aircrafts.

“It is necessary to increase the number of aircraft, improve the quality of services provided, and reduce prices. It is also necessary to be competitive in international air travel. Uzbekistan Airways must be reorganized in such a way that its services become financially accessible and secure, as our people expect,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
