President approves projects to create two tourist zones in Kashkadarya region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, by his resolution, approved projects to create two tourist zones in the Kashkadarya region.

The Shakhrisabz Tourist Center will be created in Shakhrisabz on an area of 240 hectares.

It is planned to locate hotels, guest houses, health and shopping and entertainment facilities here.

The tourist center "Maidanak-Vysokogorny" with an area of 58.6 hectares will be created in Kamashi district.

The center will include a hotel, sanatorium, cable car, ski resort and other infrastructure.

Both centers will be managed by the new Department for Development and Management of Tourist Infrastructure of Kashkadarya Region.

Land plots in these centers will be sold and rented through online auctions to entrepreneurs.

The proceeds will be used to finance the department’s work and infrastructure development.

The sale of lots can also be carried out in the form of a ready-made business (turnkey), providing for the construction of hotels, cable cars and other facilities by investment companies.

Up to US$50 million will be allocated to finance projects at a rate of 5% per annum through the National Bank of Uzbekistan, Asakabank, Turonbank and Uzpromstroybank.

The loans are expected to be repaid within five years, including a 3-year grace period.

It was also ordered to prepare a master plan for a tourist complex in the Kainar mahalla of Kitab district for the sale of 16 hectares of land under investment obligations of US$15 million.
