Workshops were held in Tashkent, Ferghana and Samarkand oblasts. Representatives of the Ministries of Finance, Economy and Health at central and oblast/rayon levels, public officials working in health care facilities (Central rayon and City hospitals, Polyclinics, and SVPs), civil society organizations, media and other involved organizations took part in the workshops.
Participants discussed the pace of reform in public health, its compliance with the public finance reform, procurement issues and the ways to make the services more effective, the need for increase funding for primary health care and continued fine-tuning of the reform.
Participants agreed that the primary health care system has achieved certain success and future reforms depend on sustainability and further progress.
